Products We Install in Phoenix & Surrounding Areas

Royal Covers installs four types of shade structures manufactured for Arizona’s desert climate.

Solid Alumawood patio cover providing full shade over a Phoenix patio

Solid Patio Covers

Alumawood solid patio covers provide complete roof coverage with maximum shade and UV protection. The solid construction blocks direct sunlight and withstands extreme heat. Maintenance-free aluminum construction resists warping, cracking, and fading. Solid patio covers extend outdoor living spaces by creating fully shaded areas for dining, entertaining, and relaxation.

Alumawood pergola with lattice roof over a backyard seating area

Alumawood Pergolas

Alumawood pergolas feature open lattice design that provides partial shade while maintaining airflow. The customizable lattice spacing allows you to control sun exposure levels. Desert climate-rated construction ensures durability in Phoenix’s extreme temperatures. Pergolas add architectural interest to outdoor spaces while reducing heat and UV exposure.

Alumawood Lattice Patio Covers

Lattice Patio Covers

Lattice patio covers deliver filtered sunlight coverage with natural ventilation. The open lattice structure provides shade while allowing air circulation to keep spaces cooler. Decorative lattice patterns add visual appeal to backyards and patios. Lightweight aluminum construction simplifies installation and reduces structural load on existing foundations.

Equinox louvered roof pergola with adjustable aluminum louvers

Equinox Louvered Roofs

Equinox louvered roofs feature adjustable louvers that rotate to control sun and shade levels. Motorized or manual operation allows you to adapt coverage throughout the day. Closed louvers provide rain protection and complete shade. Open louvers enable airflow and partial sunlight. Louvered roofs offer the most versatile shade control for Phoenix outdoor spaces.

Pick your roof style and set the footprint. Then get specific: 2×2 or 2×3 lattice, spaced at one inch or two. Single or double beams. Single or double rafters. A 12, 24, or 36 inch overhang. Bevel, miter, corbel, or scallop end cuts. Color, wall options, and electrical all in the same view.

Every change redraws in 3D as you make it. When you’re happy, open it in AR and stand it up in your actual backyard, at actual size, before anyone comes out to measure.

Do you handle HOA approval and permits?
Yes, and we do it without pulling you into it. Your designer prepares professional drawings for your HOA submission, and we handle any permit drafting, engineering review, and city submission the project requires. Once you tell us to move forward, we work the approvals on the back end and call you when they clear. Most customers don’t have to do anything in between.
How long does it take to get a patio cover or pergola?

A designer comes out to your backyard as soon as we can get there, usually within a week. In that one visit we design the structure and give you a complete quote. From there we start working on any approvals and then order materials. Once everything’s in, we call to schedule. The build itself is typically one to two days but can be longer on large projects.

Do I need to be home during the installation?

No. When our scheduling team calls, one of the first things they’ll ask is whether you want the crew to knock when they arrive or go straight to the backyard and get started. Summer crews usually arrive between 5:30 and 6:30 in the morning to beat the heat, so plenty of customers stay inside and come out when they’re ready. Our installers are all awesome full time Royal Covers employees who you will enjoy having in your backyard.

How much maintenance does an aluminum cover actually need?
Close to none. Aluminum doesn’t rust, warp, or peel, and the finish fades very little even after twenty years. Our founder has covers on his own house that went up in 1999 and 2000, and the most he’s ever done is spray them with a hose every two or three years. That’s the whole reason we build with aluminum instead of wood in this climate.
What happens if something gets damaged years from now?
Call us. We have a service department and the same phone number we’ve had since 1979. Posts get backed into, monsoons blow furniture around, trees come down. We’ve seen almost all of it, and we’ll repair or replace what needs it. If it’s storm damage, we can quote the work for your insurance claim.
Should I get a solid cover, a lattice pergola, or a louvered roof?
Solid covers give you 100% shade and stop rain completely, which is what you want if you’re covering a dining area or want the space usable in any weather. Lattice pergolas filter light and let air move through, typically 50 to 80% shade, and they look great over a barbecue or outdoor kitchen. Equinox louvered roofs rotate, so you can open them for winter sun and close them fully against summer heat or rain. Your designer will walk through which fits your exposure and how you actually use the space.
Can you replace my old wood patio cover?
Yes, and it’s a big part of what we do. Wood covers need staining or painting every few years and eventually warp, crack, or come apart in the Phoenix sun. We tear them out and replace them with aluminum that looks similar, including a cedar-embossed texture, without any of the upkeep. We do the same with failing kit covers, vinyl, and worn-out fabric shades.
